Edward Fox (The Day of The Jackal) takes over from Richard Burton, star of the original Wild Geese, in this high-octane story of Cold War intrigue. Playing Alex Faulkner, Fox is approached by an American TV station to free Nazi War Criminal Rudolph Hess (Laurence Olivier, Spartacus) from the infamous Spandau Prison in Berlin. 90-year old Hess has been in Allied hands since crash landing in Britain in the opening days of World War 2 and the network chiefs are determined to discover what knowledge could still be so dangerous as to keep him in solitary confinement guarded by a rotation of British, French, American And Russian troops. Faulkner initially refuses the risky operation and recommends mercenary John Hadad (Scott Glen, Silence of The Lambs) for the task. When the heist goes wrong, Faulkner is forced back in to help salvage the mission, but finds that his cohorts are not the only ones after Hess and the secrets he carries… Also featuring cameos from Patrick Stewart, Ingrid Pitt and Derek Thompson (TV’s Casualty).
