Synopsis:

Lawless Heart marks the second film from writer/directors NEIL HUNTER and TOM HUNSINGER. A modern love story, where lust, loyalty and courage are put to the test, Lawless Heart is described by co-writer/director Hunsinger as "a human comedy about love". The film is set in Maldon, an English seaside town and follows three men: Dan (BILL NIGHY), Nick (TOM HOLLANDER) and Tim (DOUGLAS HENSHALL), who begin to look at life differently following the death of their mutual friend Stuart, and find themselves daring to take new paths in life and love. Presented as three separate stories, the events and characters are intertwined, glancing off each other, with each man’s story offering a different perspective on the lives of the other characters. The ensemble cast of Lawless Heart is headed up by DOUGLAS HENSHALL, star of Peter Mullan award-winning black comedy ‘Orphans’, David Kane’s This Year’s Love and co-starring in Thomas Vinterberg’s new feature It’s All About Love with co-stars Joaquin Phoenix and Clare Danes; TOM HOLLANDER whose film credits include Gosford Park, Enigma and the forthcoming Possession directed by Neil La Bute; and BILL NIGHY, following up his acclaimed performance in Peter Cattaneo’s Lucky Break and his award-winning role in Still Crazy. The film also features performances from CLÉMENTINE CÉLARIÉ (Betty Blue, Room to Rent), JOSEPHINE BUTLER (Shiner), ELLIE HADDINGTON (Breathtaking, Coronation Street), STUART LAING (SW9, Milk) and SUKIE SMITH (Topsy Turvy).
