Synopsis:

Joseph L. Mankiewicz’ lost-classic gothic, Dragonwyck, has never before been released in any format in the UK. Dragonwyck is based on the best-selling novel by Anya Seton, and stars Gene Tierney (Laura, The Ghost and Mrs Muir), horror-maestro Vincent Price (House of Usher, House of Wax, Edward Scissorhands) and Walter Huston (The Treasure of Sierra Madre). Miranda Wells (Tierney) is an ambitious young woman living on a farm looking for a way out when her cousin Nicholas Van Ryn (Price) invites her to stay at Dragonwyck castle. Miranda settles into life in the luxurious but sinister castle when Van Ryn’s wife mysteriously dies. The newcomer quickly falls for Van Ryn’s charms and marries him. However, it isn’t long before Miranda discovers that her new husband is slowly descending into a strange madness. With luscious settings and costumes and eerie black and white photography, Dragonwyck is a sinister treat, ready for re-discovering.
