Deans (Gregory Peck, To Kill A Mocking Bird, How the West Was Won, Roman Holiday), a Scotsman, and Billy Two Hats (Desi Arnaz Jr, The Mambo Kings, I Love Lucy), a half-breed Indian, team up to commit a robbery. They get away with only $420 and in the process unintentionally murder a man. They eventually escape but Deans is shot in the leg and they are forced to hole-up with an old rancher and his young wife, bought for $100 in St Louis. When the rancher agrees to take Deans to a doctor and departs, Billy is left alone with his wife and the two become lovers. But with the Sheriff on their trail, how long can their freedom last?
